Handy tips for tackling low level Anti Social Behaviour

Many incidents of anti social behaviour arise because of a dispute between neighbours. Here are several tips to help you try and resolve low level incidents.

  • Approach your neighbour calmly and explain the problems you are experiencing.
  • Don’t shout or be abusive to your neighbour as they may shout and be abusive to you
  • If you don’t feel confident enough to approach them face to face, try writing a polite letter or note explaining what the problems are and post this through their door
  • Consider if you are being reasonable
  • If you have been approached by your neighbour about anti social behaviour, don't shout or be abusive, listen to what your neighbour has to say and try to resolve the issues amicably
Irwell Valley and our partner agencies can do a lot to help tackle anti social behaviour but we recognise we cannot do this alone. The local community also play a very important role in helping us tackle anti social behaviour.

What you can do to help us
