Regeneration

Our Vision

Irwell Valley is committed to regeneration and aims to enhance and develop each of its communities.

Currently, we operate in Manchester, Salford, Trafford, Bolton and Bury and value our close partnerships with elected members, officers and residents groups within those areas.

We welcome opportunities to combine our expertise with the skills of the commercial sector to create high quality, mixed tenure developments. We have worked with many top developers, contractors and architects, and have won acclaim and recognition from RIBA, the House Builders Federation and the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE).

Irwell Valley prides itself on delivering suitable homes for people from minority groups and for people with specific requirements and ensures that our commitment to promoting equality and diversity is fully reflected in our development work.

Irwell Valley recognises that quality of life begins, but does not end with a good home. In line with this belief, our development and regeneration programme incorporates healthy living initiatives and public art projects, as well as local employment and training schemes.

Regeneration in Action

Sale West

Following the successful stock transfer of over 1600 homes on the Sale West Estate (formerly the Racecourse Estate) from Manchester Council to Irwell Valley, we created a redevelopment masterplan for the estate. This plan included improvements to the existing housing stock and selected demolitions of hard to let homes, which would enable the building of new highways and further re-development.

To meet our aims for Sale West, Irwell Valley has been working in partnership with private housebuilders, Lovell Partnership, to develop new build housing within the estate which will be available for shared ownership and outright sale.

Haughton Green

The Haughton Green Estate comprises 927 homes, which are located in Denton, Tameside. These homes were transferred from Manchester City Council in a stock transfer during 2005.

Irwell Valley has currently invested £27m across the Haughton Green Estate and has made dramatic improvements to homes and the environmental surroundings.

We have also created a local Irwell Valley office, which serves the Haughton Green community and gives each resident access to our Neighbourhood Management Team.
