IV TV - A ratings hit with customers

IV TV – Irwell Valley’s interactive customer service tv channel launched in Spring 2010 and is proving a big hit with customers.

Independently collected figures show hundreds of viewers are visiting the new channel weekly to find out what’s going on in their neighbourhoods, request repairs, apply for a home and Gold Service membership - plus a whole host of other Irwell Valley services.

With links into other local and national agencies including NHS Choices, Job Centre Plus and Public Transport, viewers can also keep up-to-date with topical health issues, look up job vacancies, check bus and train times or simply find how to get involved in community events.

Irwell Valley customer Denise Baker phoned in to tell us why she finds the channel so useful.

“I don’t have internet access so I decided to take a look at IV TV when a flyer about the new service was popped through my letter box. You can access so much information about what’s going on in your area and I’ve even been able to do some research about a medical issue through IV TV. The service offers far more than I expected and I would really recommend it”

IV TV is available on the Looking Local TV channel, through Sky, Virgin, Freeview (Autumn 2010), Nintendo Wii and mobile phones. There’s no charge, it’s 24/7, 365 days a year. It’s interactive and it’s secure.
